This past semester (Spring 2019) I spent my time at Rocky Mountain High School and learned a great deal. Despite this being another high school, it wasn't just another one. I found just how passionate a community, inside and out, can be when it comes to their students. It was a treasure to be able to experience these exchanges and happenings considering how little community I felt in my own schools growing up. Whether it is a sign that mentalities are starting to change or if the teachers beliefs harbor this support or everything one could think of, this place was truly a spectacle to behold. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have given anything for the chance to be able to see it with my own eyes and experience it with my own senses.
Standard 1: Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach. The elementary teacher is an expert in literacy and mathematics and is knowledgeable in all other content that he or she teachers (e.g., science, social studies, arts, physical education, or world languages). The secondary teacher has knowledge of literacy and mathematics and is an expert in his or her content endorsement area(s).

In the following artifacts, I found elements and ideas present in the first standard of teaching. I made sure that I chose standards that fit with the initial ideas present before shaping the lesson to the standards chosen.
Standard 2: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
Compared to the first standard, many of these came from when I was able to experience moments in the school community. Specifically, during these meetings I was able to get a sense of the school's diversity in the student body and how accepting they were altogether. In the lesson, the aim was to ensure they had the options in this upcoming project with work with who and what they wanted.
Standard 3: Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students.
These touch on the way class would be conducted in my personal, optimal environment, but also on the integration of technology. Being an Electronic Art concentration alongside Art Ed, I have a lot of time invested in technology and the way it can be used in a classroom. The aim to give a diverse base so that they can explore and grow through experimentation.
Standard 4: Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
After looking at both lessons I taught, and the way I would want to run a classroom, I realized where I can still improve and where things need to be tightened down and reigned in a bit. In some cases, things went smoothly, and other cases they needed to be nipped in the bud before getting out of hand.
